WEIGHT LOSS AND HEALTH TIPS
A journey of a thousand mile begins with a step in the right direction. Here at Shadow in your light we provide you with the necessary steps to achieve that physique of your dream. Simple tips which when put into practice can make a lot of difference in your outlook.
Healthy eating, we believe, is not about depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about following basic nutritional tips while eating right.
·         Making drastic changes in your eating habit overnight is unrealistic and unhealthy. Never starve yourself, eat smaller serves with a couple of snacks in between.
·         Avoid skipping meals, this can lead to overeating later on. More so, you need to start slow and make gradual changes to your eating habits overtime. Make small steps like taking fruits after every meal or switching from normal cholesterol beverages and snacks to low cholesterol beverages and snacks. For example you can cook with olive oil instead of groundnut oil.
·         Learn how to eat and drink slowly. Enjoy mealtime because it’s not just about what you eat but how you eat it also matters. Give yourself a chance to feel satisfied without feeling overfull.
·         Avoid multitasking while eating, like working, reading or watching TV. You won’t pay attention to the amount of food you consume. It is worth noting that, it takes the brain few minutes to tell your body that it has had enough food. So, it is wise to stop eating few minutes before you feel full. This sensation cannot be well evaluated while multitasking. It’s preferable to eat meals at the dining table so that you can concentrate.
·         Make water and exercise part of your diet list. I know a lot of you don’t want to hear about exercise, but it’s a necessary evil. You need to exercise, at least twice a week. Exercise will help you burn at least 60% of your excess weight while diet make up for the other 40%.
·         In dieting, you need to apply moderation. This means eating far less of unhealthy foods like chocolates, butter, fatty cheese etc. stock your fridge and pantry with healthy foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables. If you need to eat the unhealthy stuff, make it once a week (NO DEPRIVATION). No matter what you do, do not tag any food as off-limits just apply moderation by eating it less frequently.
·         Avoid eating at night, if need be, eat very light. The body metabolism slows down at night since you are less active. So, most foods consumed at night accumulates as fat in your body.

JOB CORNER
Whether you are still looking for a job or you already have one, these tips are for you. The 20 Dos and DON’Ts at your place of work.
Seven things you must avoid at work
1)      Your boss getting to work before you.
2)      Using official time for private practice.
3)      Always being reminded of what to do.
4)      When tasks you are meant to do, are done without your involvement, you are beginning to loose relevance.
5)      Giving of excuses.
6)      Showing little or no competence on the task or job.
7)      Absence without leave.

Thirteen habits that will improve your work life
1)      Start the day with a ‘to do list’.
2)      Do more than you are paid to do.
3)      Be the first to resume and the last to leave.
4)      Never take a problem back to your boss (take the solution back, that’s why you were hired).
5)      Write down every instruction and play back the instruction to be sure you are on the same page.
6)      Never assume or think you have understood (ask reasonable questions).
7)      Take 100% responsibility of task assigned to you.
8)      Be dependable and accountable.
9)      Remember what ought to be done should be done.
10)  Remember that people believe more of what you do than what you say (talk is cheap).
11)  Don’t be careless with tools given to you, maintain them.
12)  Use devices as reminders not your head (use your head to process data).
13)  When it’s time for work, ensure you are working (don’t engage in any other thing like gossip- Ladies take note).
There is a great difference between someone who is working hard and another who is hardly working.
How to determine if a job is right for you
1)      You look forward to it.
2)      You are angry when the job is not done well.
3)      You like discussing about it.
4)      You enjoy doing it.
5)      It’s almost natural to work on it. You feel like an animal/a bird/a fish in its natural habitat. A fish is not taught how to swim. It’s in it.
6)      You  mentor people knowingly and unknowingly on it.
7)      It’s fun to you.
